In a hospital emergency, every second counts. Yet the code carts that store life-saving medications and supplies for cardiac arrests and other crises have relied on the same manual inventory systems for over a century. smartSTAT has built the world’s first tech-enabled code cart, automating inventory management to reduce frontline worker time, improve patient safety, and increase compliance. The smartSTAT team, consisting of engineers with experience at Moderna and Apple, is led by Rohan Bajaj, a practicing physician and Harvard Business School MBA candidate.
Pava Center Summer Incubator helps student founders refine their long-term visions
As the Pava Center’s Summer Incubator wraps up, we interviewed the founders of three ventures to see how participating in the incubator allowed them to pursue long-term visions for their companies.
The Summer Incubator is a six-week in-person program at the Pava Center that provides founders with funding, co-working space, and other resources. The program is complemented with scheduled workshops, guest speakers, field trips, and networking opportunities with the broader Baltimore entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Math Your Mind: Helping Students Think Like Mathematicians
A math education company working to shift student identity, not just student performance. Years of declining math performance, widened by pandemic learning loss, have left students underprepared. Now AI is forcing a reckoning of how deeply students actually understand the subject. Dr. Christina Eubanks-Turner (C.T.), a math professor at Loyola Marymount University, and Dr. Earl Turner III (E.T.), a behavioral scientist and former Teach for America educator, founded Math Your Mind Institute to address the root cause: students who never learn to see themselves as math people.
