Fall 2026, Mondays and Wednesdays 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm @ the Pava Center
Registration # BU.667.325.U1
Have you ever thought, “I have a startup idea, but I don’t know where to start”?
Then, Scaling Startups: Ideation, Financing, and High-Growth Strategies (BU.667.325.U1) taught by Prof. Supriya Munshaw and Prof. Jake Dreier is just for you!
This is a hands-on course that takes you from idea → launch → early growth. We’ll cover what it really takes to move from a vague concept to something real, testable, and fundable.
Over the course of the semester, you will:
- Identify and refine a startup idea worth pursuing
- Validate demand through real-world research (not just assumptions)
- Build a clear business model and go-to-market approach
- Understand how early-stage funding works—and what investors actually look for
- Develop and pitch your venture idea
This isn’t a theoretical class. You’ll be actively working on ideas, making decisions with incomplete information, and learning how founders navigate uncertainty at every stage.
Whether you want to start your own company, join a startup, or just understand how new ventures come to life, this course will give you a practical foundation.
No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to engage.
If you are a business minor student, this course will count as an elective. If you are not in the business minor, you can register simply by submitting an IDR request through SEAM.
This class will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 PM – 4:15 PM at the Pava Center in Fall 2026. You can reach the Pava Center through a shuttle, a short walk, or park across the street for free!
