Driving Change: Social Innovation Lab Founders Address Baltimore’s Toughest Challenges
The 2025โ2026 Social Innovation Lab cohort brought together 13 student and community founders tackling challenges in mobility, workforce development, housing, education, and creative economies. At this spring’s showcase, hosted by the Pava Marie LaPere Center for Entrepreneurship, ventures were recognized for both their impact potential and their growth throughout the program.
I Got Drive took first place and a $15,000 award for its model combining a driving school with a nonprofit foundation โ turning driver education into a pathway toward economic mobility. Create & Serve Media earned second place and $7,000 for its workforce development approach to growing Baltimore’s film and media industry. Mavrik Village and Cypher each received $5,000 Audience Choice Awards for their work in transitional housing and culturally responsive education, respectively. All participating ventures received $5,000 upon completing the program.
